The great Everest Cuisine Nepalese and Indian restaurant in Southampton was host, once again, for a buffet lunch for former colleagues, partners and families. Thursday 23 April saw 46 gathered there for the annual SCARA reunion. This was the fourth year in a row that the venue has been chosen, due to the popularity of the excellent food and the availability of the large room for SCARA’s sole use. This bar and restaurant combination make it very conducive for mingling and catching up with old friends and colleagues, and everyone attending had a very enjoyable lunch.
As well as the regular attendees it was good to see new faces, some of whom enjoyed it so much they proposed to approach other colleagues to attend next year.
Robert Woods very kindly gave a brief report on the situation in the Gulf and how it was affecting container ship operations in the region, which was a very much appreciated.
Jim Baxter once again organised the event, ably assisted by Annie Appleyard, who along with Mary Anthony also manned the reception! Our thanks go also to Geoff and Susan Lock who were our event photographers.
At date for next year’s buffet lunch re-union at the Everest Cuisine has already been set, for Thursday 15th April 2027.
