SCARA Southampton reunion 24 April 2025

On Thursday 24 April 44 former colleagues, partners and family gathered in Southampton for the annual SCARA reunion in that port city which played such a key part in the development of our former company. This was the fourth year in a row that the venue was Everest Cuisine, a great Indian and Nepalese restaurant close to Dock Gate 4, and our old Dukes Keep and Richmond House offices. As in previous years, the curry buffet definitely found favour!

The event was brilliantly organised by SCARA committee member Jim Baxter, ably assisted by Annie Appleyard who manned the reception! The memorabilia table, with ship models, bags and other momentos from OCL, P&OCL and P&O Nedlloyd was as popular as ever, raising funds for SCARA and helping to cover the costs.

This year sees the 20th anniversary of the first SCARA annual reunion lunch in London in 2005, an occasion which is being marked at all of our events in 2025.

We strongly suspect that there will be a repeat event in Southampton in 2026, probably also at the Everest Cuisine restaurant which seems to be the ideal location for friends and former colleagues to meet for a catch up and to remember the good days.
