Tony Blumer OBE
Further to our email earlier this month notifying the death of Anthony Blumer on 19 April 2023, Anthony's daughter Elizabeth Jarvis has asked us to share with the SCARA community, particularly any with whom her father was closely involved, details for the memorial service.
The memorial service will take place on Tuesday 19th September at 2.30pm at Christ Church, Malvern Road, Cheltenham, GL50 2JH.
Everyone is warmly welcome. We are looking forward to celebrating his life together with the wider circle of his many friends from the multiple areas of his life - and his years with P&O and OCL and the SCARA community certainly constituted an important part of his life.

Update - 21/08/2023
Tony Blumer OBE was a regular attendee at the annual SCARA reunion lunches in London. In this picture from the 2015 reunion he is on the left with Clifford Miller, Alan Bott OBE and John Roberts.
Sadly we have been notified that Tony Blumer passed away on 19 April 2023 at home in Cheltenham. A private family cremation was held at Cheltenham Crematorium. At a later date a memorial service is to be arranged for friends and colleagues.
Clifford Miller tells us, "Tony ran the Malaysian agency for Blue Funnel, OCL and POCL for many years and was well known to many of us. We were assured of a warm welcome from them both Tony and his wife Mary when we visited Kuala Lumpur. "
