James Baldwin

Joined OCL in 1973 in the ICM division. Over the next twelve years worked in various management divisions in Barking and Beagle House. Left in 1985 to join Inchcape Shipping Services ending up as Regional Director for the Middle East in 1992.

Appointed MD of Elder Dempster Nigeria in 1994 and then in 1999, Group MD of the Ocean group of Companies in West Africa. Led the MBO in 2007 to own the various companies and subsequently set up the Hull Blyth and Stellar Group which between them have a turnover of over £100m and a staff of 1000.

Delegated most of the management to members of the family allowing myself to semi -retire in Kent..
