SCARA 12th Annual Reunion Lunch Report

A great day weather wise for our get-together this year on Thursday 2 November.  Thank you to all those who braved the hustle and bustle of the big city and made our 2017 Reunion such a memorable day.   

The turnout was a little down on last year but there were a few new faces including Michael Denchfield, Tom Boardley, Pat Boyle and Stan Smulders, all of whom we were very pleased to welcome.  It was also a great pleasure to welcome SCARA’s previous chairman Bob Bowen who was accompanied by his daughter Jane.

For the first time in 12 years we invited a guest speaker to the event.  The Reverend Canon Andrew Wright, Secretary General, Mission to Seafarers entertained us with anecdotes and delivered a summary of some of the work undertaken by the mission.  A great speaker – we all agreed.

We were also pleased to welcome our Vice President Lady St. Johnston who made the presentation of the silver rose bowl to Michael Shoesmith, this year’s winner of the golf challenge.
