Sadly we have recently received news of 3 member deaths occurring earlier this year.
Miller Howieson (March 2026)
Miller was Inland Operation Manager in the Southampton office in the late 90's and early 2000's and will no doubt be well remembered by all those who worked there as a hardworking and popular leader of the operations team. After retirement he moved to Marchington in Staffordshire.
Our thanks to Richard James and Jim Baxter for the notification.
Terry Johnson (2026)
Terry's son has notified SCARA of Terry's death earlier this year. Terry's career with OCL began in the Export Department in Barking. In the 1980's he transferred to the UK Central Sales team in Beagle House and subsequently to other roles in BH. Colleagues remember Terry as being quiet and conscientious.
Terry's son wrote, "I know dad worked at OCL and P&O Nedlloyd for a long time and had many happy memories there."
Captain David Dornom (May 2026)
Our thanks to Jane Headlam who notified SCARA of the death of Captain David Dornom on 29 May 2026. Jane had sailed with David on the Botany Bay in the early 1980s and had remained in touch ever since. For his tribute please go to Captain David Dornom.
