Ken Wright

Dear SCARA Member,

We have received sad news from Ken Wright's daughter Sharon Walker who tells us that her father passed away suddenly and peacefully on the 5th October 2021.

The funeral is planned for Wednesday 27th October at Cambridge Crematorium at 15:00 hours.

Refreshments afterwards at Hilton village hall at PE28 9NB.

Sharon tell us that the service will be live streamed and a Much Loved site set up for any donations to RBL.

Our thanks to Alan Robertson, fellow SCARA member and colleague who recalls his time working with Ken. Alan writes,

"Firstly I would like to send my condolences for their precious loss. I first met Ken when I became Depot Manager at Barking and Ken was managing a team of container inspectors performing a vital quality ams safety role. This had all the complications of outdoor work, shifts and keeping up with legislation. He was actually employed by CTR at this point in his career. Later the powers of Beagle House decreed that CTR would be incorporated into UK operations - and so Ken and I worked directly together. I rapidly became grateful for his knowledge and guidance in the technical side of containers. I also rapidly developed a deep enjoyment of his sense of humour which he had the skill to deploy and defuse whatever today’s operational crisis happened to be. I count myself lucky to have had the honour to have worked with Ken and I have no doubt he dug me out of operational scrapes that I had managed to create. It was a privilege to have known and worked with Ken - a gentleman."
