Dear SCARA Member,

Sadly we have been received news that John Newton passed away on the 25th April 2013.

The funeral will take place at at St. Mary's Church, Wanstead, at 2 pm Monday 13th. May, thence to the local Cricket Club.

John Newton was born in 1939. At the time that he left P&O Containers Limited he was Director of Fleet Management Division (FMD), based in London with responsibility for the company's ships. He was a board director of a number of OCL/P&O Containers subsidiaries and related companies including Overseas Containers (Overseas Holdings) Limited, P&OCL Ship Management Services Ltd., Containerbase (Holdings) Ltd., and P&O Pension Funds Investments Limited.

John was one of the contributors to the British Box Business - A History of OCL book and he attended the annual SCARA reunion lunch in London in October 2012.
