George Oddy

Very sadly we have received news of the death of our SCARA friend and colleague George Oddy who passed away 12 December 2022. The funeral was held 10 January 2023.

We offer our sincere condolences to George's wife and family at this sad time.

David Charlesworth writes… ‘I knew George from my early ANZ trade and sales days. I certainly remember him as a kindly man who was good to work with and for. I believe he was a GM in the head office ANZ trade/sales team in the 1980s. Definitely one of the good guys’.

George Oddy is credited, along with John Corbett-Singleton and David Baker, as assisting Alan Bott with chapter 3, 'Sailing to Australia', in his book British Box Business - A History of OCL.
