Our thanks to Kim Burrell for her message informing SCARA of the recent sad passing of Alex Aaron.
It is with sadness I have to inform you of the passing of Alex Aaron on Monday 28th July.
Alex came to work in Barking in about 1982, in the imports dept and we soon found out what a character he was, always the joker. He founded the famous import FDC (Friday Drinking Club) which soon accumulated lots of members, and a few late back from lunches! Over the years a few of us from the original OCL would have evenings together around Alex's and have great times talking about our time in the import dept and the (lots) of sometimes naughty things we got up to.
Alex lost his wife, Leigh, the love of his life, in 2005, and would always talk so fondly of her. He missed her terribly,
I would normally talk to Alex every week and when I last spoke with him he was still joking around. He was 86.
He was a special man and I will miss him.
