Rémi Speld

Rob Mars has passed on the very sad news that Rémi Speld passed away on October 4th in The Hague.

Rémi had retired in April 2001 after 38 years of service in his beloved Hong Kong where he had established and led the Asia Region & Trade office for P&O Nedlloyd. Prior to taking up that role he had held many overseas and HQ positions for Nedlloyd. One of those roles had been as Managing Director for North Sea Ferries, a joint venture with P&O.

From the tributes that have followed since Rémi’s passing it is clear that he was known and respected by many from around the globe. He will be very much missed and our deepest condolences go to his wife Josje and daughter Sacha.

Rémi’s memorial service took place yesterday, Friday 8 October 2021.
