PONL Heritage and the Blue Funnel Middies 

Following the 2022 Blue Funnel 'Middies' and Friends Reunion on 4 May an offer of an area on this website was made to the group for them to hold their reunion reports, promote future events and record their news announcements.  Blue Funnel was of course one of the founding companies of Overseas Containers Limited and a number of staff from the company transferred over to the container line at various stages (including the early 1980s when the sea staff on the Liverpool Bay class TRIO vessels moved from Ocean to Container Fleets management).

To accommodate the Blue Funnel Middies site area  a new top-level navigation heading.  Other Groups has been created.  This allows scope should any further associations or groups linked to P&O Nedlloyd and its predecessor companies come on board with PONL Heritage in the future.
