We are very sorry to have to pass on the very sad news of the passing of John Nawotka. John had been a Project Manager with the company, based in the P&O Nedlloyd Sydney office from 1999-2006.
John's family, wife Kylie and daughters Jayden and Keesha, have kindly given their permission for us to repeat the announcement below, which first appeared yesterday on LinkedIn:
It is with great sadness that I share the passing of my dad, John Nawotka. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 16th March, surrounded by his family, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was an amazing dad and husband. We will miss him more than words can say.
We will be holding a service to celebrate his life on Thursday, 27th March at midday at Greenway Chapel and Memorial Park on the Central Coast. For those who are unable to attend in person, there will be a livestream available.

- Jayden, Kylie & Keesha.
John gained his Batchelor of Business, Operations Management and Human Development degree at the University of Technology in 1985. Before joining P&O Nedlloyd in 1999 he worked for the Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation and CMS Hospitality.
Like many others, John left PONL at the time of the Maersk takeover. Over the years that followed he took on a number of different project management, training and consultancy roles for various organisations (see John's LinkedIn profile).
Many have already responded to the family's LinkedIn post, expressing sorrow for their loss. He is clearly remembered as a kind, and thoughtful man who was valued as a colleague and friend.
We too would like to express our deepest condolences to Kylie, Jayden, Keesha, the other members of John's family and his friends.
