Haye van Noord

With a heavy heart I herewith share that Haye van Noord, a longtime colleague and friend of many, passed away on March 28.  Last Friday a farewell and memorial service was held to celebrate Haye his life with family and friends, “The party’s over…”.

Haye started his career in 1964 with KNSM and after postings in Curacao, Surinam and New York and in Amsterdam for Mammoet Shipping he became Director of Ruys & Co/Nedlloyd Lines in 1986 in Rotterdam.  Many will know him also from his postings as Country Manager Japan (1992), Sales/Marketing Beneswiss/France (2001) and finally PONL France Country Manager until his retirement in 2006.

He became honorary member of DNP, the association for members of the Nedlloyd Pensionfund, in recognition of more than 10 years of service on the board until 2015.  Under his chairmanship he furthered the professionalism of the board and championed the interests of the members. 

We will miss him!  We remember Haye for his lively, positive, entertaining character, his ability to engage with people of all levels and backgrounds and his desire to share his professional experiences.
